So whats the difference between Uggs and Emu in reality? These really are just glorified sheepskin slippers, and where I'm from (down under) that's all people really wear them for so it comes as a bit of a surprise that they are now a 'fashion' item.

It's cold up here in Minnesota so I'm hoping that these Emus keep my 5 yr olds feet cozy at school, of course I'll have to treat these before she wears them so that they will last a little better, so I will purchase the waterproofing spray to help with that. While I understand these are for cold weather but not for frigid climates or snowy slush etc(that's what snow boots are for)I cant see why she cant wear a pair of smart wool socks with them on the chilliest of days.

My daughter is only 41" tall and these are almost to her knees which I actually like, and so does she...in fact she likens them to 'dragon training boots' ala How to train your dragon! Hmmmm, these double as a possible costume option! deal!
